Dolphin: It works, but what about the IR bar (sensor bar)?
« on: June 04, 2011, 04:40:54 PM »
I want to be able to play Super Mario Galaxy on my laptop during a plane ride or some sort... my main problem is that the cursor can't be used. That means, for many games, I can't even start/play the thing! For example, I can't advance past the save file screen in Galaxy or that first Tippi part in Super Paper Mario...

So, of course, I could buy a wireless Wii sensor bar and play that somewhere... but I would be on a plane, and the Wiimote cannot sense IR lights so close. The Wiimote works this way: It takes the IR light emitting from the sensor bar and records the points that the light is located and tilted, and from there, it places the cursor. All data of controls comes from the Wiimote. Since the Wiimote cannot sense larger sizes of IR lights farther away from each other, why not make them smaller and closer to each other? So I am asking for a solution to this problem so I can use my (nice laptop that can run dolphin) "portable Wii" to play games where ever I am. It doesn't need to be buyable, just makable by hand. I am asking anyone for a solution. :3 Please respond.
Crap dude, you better do what he says.

Dolphin can run on a laptop? Must be pretty powerful...

I think you're out of luck BTW on the IR bar issue.
I've got nothing to say here.

I know that the IR sensor on the Wiimote works with dolphin, all I need is someone's advice on how to trick the Wiimote on thinking a close sensor bar is far.
